Restaurants on the Rechengasse are conveniently close to the University of Innsbruck and a popular youth hostel, while for fine dining, the Europa Stüberl Restaurant on the Südtiroler Platz, close to the Hauptbahnhof train station, is hard to beat and part of the Hotel Europa.

A little more historic is the Kröll bakery on the Hofgasse, in central Innsbruck. The Kröll bakery is housed within a 13th-century building and offers the chance to enjoy a range of hot refreshments, including mugs of rich, white, hot chocolate.
